Player rankings
Every map counts. Bonus rewards count at 30%. Stage times do not award points.
How points & ranks workTier rewards, placements and surfer titles
Finish maps, improve your personal bests and climb the rankings. Your total adds up the points from every eligible map and bonus you have completed. There is no map cap, and stage times award no points.
1. Start with the map tier
Each completed map earns a baseline. Your position on its leaderboard adds a share of that tier’s world-record (WR) reward.
| Tier | Baseline | WR reward | WR total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 25 | 250 | 275 |
| 2 | 50 | 500 | 550 |
| 3 | 100 | 750 | 850 |
| 4 | 200 | 1,000 | 1,200 |
| 5 | 400 | 1,250 | 1,650 |
| 6 | 600 | 2,000 | 2,600 |
| 7 | 800 | 3,000 | 3,800 |
2. Add your placement reward
In the top 10, add the following percentage of the WR reward to your baseline. Equal times share the same position and reward.
- #1 · WR100%
- #280%
- #375%
- #470%
- #565%
- #660%
- #755%
- #850%
- #945%
- #1040%
Example · tier 3, rank #5
100 + (750 × 65%) = 587.5 → 588 points
Outside the top 10
First remove all Top 10 PBs from that route, including tied Top 10 positions. The faster half of the remaining PBs earns a group reward. Each PB belongs to Top 10, one group, or completion only; these categories never overlap.
| Group | Finish within | Share of WR reward |
|---|---|---|
| G1 | Top 3.125% | 25% |
| G2 | Top 6.25% | 25% ÷ 1.5 ≈ 16.67% |
| G3 | Top 12.5% | 25% ÷ 1.5² ≈ 11.11% |
| G4 | Top 25% | 25% ÷ 1.5³ ≈ 7.41% |
| G5 | Top 50% | 25% ÷ 1.5⁴ ≈ 4.94% |
Group percentile = your position among the remaining PBs ÷ the number of remaining PBs. Exact boundaries qualify: with 42 finishers and 10 Top 10 PBs, #11 is first of the remaining 32 (3.125%), so it is G1. With 19 finishers, #11 is first of 9 (11.11%), so it is G3. Small leaderboards can have no G1 or G2; nobody is rounded up into a group. Outside the top 10 and these groups, you still receive the baseline. Top 10 counts your current main-map PBs ranked #1–#10, including WRs and tied placements. Each map counts once; repeat finishes, bonuses and stages do not increase this count. G1–G5 on profiles count current main-map PBs on enabled, ranked maps in these groups. Disabled-map records remain in your history but award no points or groups. Bonuses use their own leaderboard and the same grouping for bonus points, but do not add to main-map group counts. Stages do not award points or groups. Existing PBs are recalculated automatically as the leaderboard changes; repeat finishes do not add extra groups or points.
Bonuses & personal bests
Each bonus has its own leaderboard. Use the parent map’s tier and your position on that bonus, then multiply the whole baseline-plus-placement reward by 30%.
Example · tier 3 bonus, rank #5
[100 + (750 × 65%)] × 30% = 176.25 → 176 points
- Points are rounded once at the end; half-points round up.
- Only your best time per map or bonus scores. Repeating the same completion does not stack points.
- Existing personal bests count automatically. Points can rise or fall as leaderboard positions and group sizes change.
- Only enabled maps and normal surf records count. Stage records remain available for timing and comparison.
Your overall rank & title
Your overall rank is your position by total points across all maps and bonuses. Equal totals share a rank; the next position skips accordingly. Titles follow the rules below, in order. Complete five different eligible main maps to move beyond Provisional.
- Provisional
- Fewer than 5 maps
- God
- Overall #1 + at least 25 maps
- Legend
- Top 0.5%
- Master
- Top 1%
- Elite
- Top 5%
- Expert
- Top 10%
- Veteran
- Top 25%
- Skilled
- Top 50%
- Surfer
- Everyone else with 5+ maps
Title percentages use the number of surfers ahead of you divided by the ranked population. You must be below the listed threshold, so an exact boundary falls into the next title bracket. These title brackets are separate from the G1–G5 map groups.
